James Ryder has dedicated over 30 years of his career to The Clerkley Watkins Group. As Director of Production, he works closely with Curtis Clerkley and oversees the production team and is extremely knowledgeable in all the technical aspects of our drawings as well as the company as a whole. 

James attended the University of Houston as well as Houston Community College. He began his career in the field of architecture as a Draftsman at Houston Design Group in 1973. There, he worked on single-family residential projects, and then transitioned to multi-family when he moved to Kaufman Meeks in 1984 as a Project Captain. Finally, in 1992, he began his tenure at The Clerkley Watkins Group and has risen in the ranks to become a Principal. James is an essential part of The Clerkley Watkins Group; from managing all of our wood-frame projects to being the go-to person if anyone has a building code question. He has also developed the AutoCAD BIM standards for the company.
